Everyone Should Smile With Confidence
Are you one of the millions of adults who are unhappy, self-conscious or even embarrassed of your smile?
Many adults spend their entire lives covering their mouths when they laugh, smile or talk. They feel stuck because they do not want to wear metal braces for years or they are concerned that other corrective procedures could be too invasive or too expensive. Now, there is an effective, safe and affordable cosmetic solution that fits your lifestyle.
Invisalign treatment is a virtually invisible way to straighten your teeth. Using advanced 3D computer-imaging technology, Invisalign shows you your complete treatment plan based on your Invisalign Provider’s prescription, from the initial position of your teeth towards the final desired position. Then a series of clear aligners are custom-made for your teeth to move them little by little.
Each aligner is worn for about two weeks before being replaced by the next in the series, gradually moving towards the projected final position. The treatment time depends on your specific needs and will be decided by your Invisalign Provider.
These are the braces system for you if you don’t want anyone to know.
Hidden braces (Harmony lingual braces) are hidden, fixed, orthodontic appliances placed on the inside/ lingual of the teeth so they are completely invisible from the outside.
No one will know you have braces.
The results of lingual braces are as good as visible metal braces. As Fixed appliance braces lingual braces can be used to treat quite severe malocclusions (crooked teeth). Each braces bracket has to be cast in the lab in Germany and the wires are actually made by wire bending robots, so it is a bespoke customized appliance which fits only you. As such adjustments may take a little longer, but the results are still amazing.

Treatment: 6 month smiles braces on top teeth
Before I came to Cork Dental Care, I suffered from embarrassment because of my very crooked front teeth, which were overlapping and sticking out anytime I smiled. I went for a consultation with Grania and she recommended six month smiles braces. This was important for me as she was able to guarantee that she could straighten my two front teeth, which was something I had wanted for years.
Braces aren’t just for kids, more and more adults are turning to braces to get that perfect smile – we take a look at how braces have evolved over time.
Humans were always preoccupied with their teeth it seems – as early as 400BC Hippocrates wrote about issues and concerns with ‘irregularities of teeth’
The first evidence of braces were found on Egyptian mummies, where they used crude metal bands around their teeth. Remains have also been found with ‘cat gut’ running along the teeth, similar to the orthodontic wire of today.
Orthodontics is dentistry’s oldest specialty, dating back to the 1930’s – the first braces were made of gold! The metal braces today are made of stainless steel.
Braces for kids are pretty much a fashion statement these days – the metal braces used are much smaller and more efficient at straightening teeth, and the wires are thinner. The rubber bands used with braces now come in a range of colours that can be changed at each appointment.
